Every business has some version of the same problem: paperwork comes in on paper, and someone has to read it, work out what it is, and type it into whatever system actually runs the business. ScanWright is the bit in between.

Watches wherever it lands

A hot folder off the scanner, a network share, an FTP/SFTP drop, or a mailbox: IMAP or POP3, with proper OAuth2 login for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace inboxes, not just a stored password.

Cleans the page up first

Auto-deskew and auto-rotate, auto-enhance, and blank pages stripped out before anything else touches the file. Garbage in, garbage out; this is the bit that stops it.

Reads what’s on it

OCR pulls the text off a scanned page or a printed report. Barcode and QR scanning reads a code straight off the document where there already is one, no OCR needed.

Works out what it’s looking at

Classifies the document by keyword, then pulls out the one field you actually need: a serial number, a patient ID, a rego, an invoice number, with a plain pattern. No coding required to set it up.

Finds the matching record

Looks the extracted value up against the database or API behind your practice management, job, or accounting software, and pulls back the record that matches: the open job, the right patient, the right invoice.

Files it, tags it, tells someone

Renames and moves the file into the right folder, appends a line to a log, calls a web API, emails the right person with the document attached, or pops a tray notification. Nothing found? It branches, and flags it for a human instead of silently dropping it.

What if it’s not right for us?

What software does it work with?
Anything with a SQL database behind it, or a web API in front of it. The lookup and the query are both configured per flow, not hardcoded to one product, so it’s built to match whatever you’re already running rather than asking you to switch.
Where does it actually run?
On a PC or a small server on your network, as a Windows service. It starts with the machine, runs in the background, and keeps going without anyone needing to leave a window open.
Is my data secure?
Stored credentials and connection strings are encrypted at rest on the machine they’re configured on. Processed files stay on your own network; nothing goes to a third-party cloud unless a flow’s deliberately set up to email something or call an external API.
Can I see it working before I commit?
Every flow is tested against a real sample file inside the designer before it’s switched on, so you see it match your paperwork correctly before it’s doing it unattended.
What happens when a document doesn’t match anything?
It branches: matched documents go one way, unmatched ones go another. Nothing gets silently dropped; the usual setup is an email or a notification so a human can chase it up.
How do I cancel a subscription or switch Monthly ↔ Annual?
From My Account, sign in with just your email (no password, we send a one-time link) and cancel or switch the billing period yourself. A cancellation still runs until the period you already paid for ends, it just won’t renew after that.
Is there support after it’s set up?
Yes. ScanWright is built and supported directly by Border Tech Solutions, the same place that handles managed IT and break-fix support for a lot of the businesses running it.
